Jerkin bass

Jerk music started in late 2008 in LA, since then it became a real movement with its own dresscode (skinny jeans, flashy colours, fresh kicks) and dance moves. The jerk is all about  bass: heavy 808 bassdrums and subasslines alongside dirty lyrics. All the ingredients to make the kids dance. Check out some jerk moves in this tutorial:

The main producer of this movement is Jhawk an 18 years old kid from LA. His tracks are in almost all of the jerkin videos on youtube… Check his mixtape here.

And last but not least 3 fresh jerkin tracks straight outta LA gutter:

YT – I’m On (not the same YT who does reggae from Britain)

F.Y.I. – I ain’t

Wes Nyle – Badd Girls
