On a roll

Posted in Uncategorized with tags on August 24, 2010 by thezombiesnakecharmer

Hostage is keeping the heavy bass music spirit going since more than 4 years now. We’ve talked about him on this blog, and this new free release still deserves some attention.

Hostage uses his usual blend of old-school rave, dubstep and other bassline driven tunes to agitate the kids at peaktime.

Check it out here with the free ep and the video of Roll:

“Eurosynths evolve into gangster hip-hop with a dubstep edge, the rave commeth, then, behold, the drop.”

Take me to the hospital

Hostage seems to be on a roll lately with all those smashing remixes and OG’s.

Check out this great wobbly remix of the Prodigy’s brand new track.

Murder Rocket within the sea

And again Alan Hostage hooks us up with a smashing new track (though i’m not very fan of the vocal sample in the middle) inspired by the Belgian crowd (it’s true we are party animals :p) which was doing strange noises during the breaks of one of his gig in Belgium two weeks ago…

Check it here:

Hostage – Murder Rocket

And another thing that was relevant to my interests this week, was the new track made byt the UK band the Horrors.

After their first smashing album Strange House (one of my favorite rock album of all times) they are back in May with a brand new album called Primary Colours.

They published the first track of the album, which was produced by the talented Geoff Barrow (Portishead), this week and you can get it by subscribing to their newsletter on their site. This track: Sea Within A Sea sounds really promising for the new album, with a psychedelic, cold and hypnotic sound!

This is one of my favorites vocal tracks since a long time, i’m just totally addicted to Skream’s remix, go check it if you haven’t yet!

Our Scottish mate Alan Hostage gives us his version of the track, with a rave-ish bass remix:
